The GMAT is adaptive question by question: every answer decides the difficulty of the next one. Questions left blank cost more than mistakes. Without training on the mechanism, the score doesn’t reflect what you know.

Quantitative Reasoning
21 questions in 45 minutes, all problem solving on algebra and arithmetic. The tutor works with you directly on the platform — fast-calculation techniques, logical shortcuts, and managing the clock on the questions that eat up most of it. Between lessons you carry on with targeted exercises set by the tutor, always in the real GMAT format. The platform tracks every session: where you are strong, where you lose time, where you slip through carelessness and where you slip through genuine gaps. The tutor uses this data to build the next lesson.

Verbal Reasoning
23 questions in 45 minutes: Critical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension. The tutor teaches you to take an argument apart — premises, implicit assumptions, legitimate inferences — and to read long passages against the clock by holding on to the structure rather than the details. You work on the same question types as the real GMAT on the platform, with specific strategies for each of them. Between lessons, the exercises on the platform consolidate what you covered together — and generate data the tutor analyses before the next session.

20 questions in 45 minutes: the most innovative section of the current test. Preparazione chimica per test medicina
Federico è sempre stato di grandissimo supporto, soprattutto in questo ultimo periodo, in cui mi ha dato una mano in chimica, per il test di medicina. In ogni occasione, mi è stato davvero di supporto, soprattutto nei momenti di massimo sconforto, mi ha sempre incitato a non mollare. Which test for your business school
Almost every business school accepts both the GMAT and the GRE. The GMAT was designed for management programmes and is the most direct signal for an MBA; the GRE also opens the door to non-business master’s degrees. Before choosing, check what the school you’re aiming at accepts.

What GMAT score do you need for the top business schools?
Harvard and MIT Sloan publish the same middle 80%: 645–735. That means a 645 — the 86th percentile, not the 99th — already sits inside the middle eighty per cent of both classes. The averages published by the most selective business schools fall between 615 and 695 on the current 205–805 scale, and the worldwide median is 565. Up to Ten prepares candidates with a dedicated tutor and a proprietary adaptive simulation platform.

Scores from each school’s official class profile; percentiles from the official GMAC concordance table, covering 1 July 2021 – 30 June 2026. Schools publish either a mean or a median depending on the case: these are different measures, so the rows should be read as levels, not as a ranking.
Three schools that matter a great deal to candidates applying from Italy publish no score at all: SDA Bocconi, INSEAD and IE. That does not mean the test is optional — all three require it — but that none of them states an average or a minimum; IESE, by contrast, publishes the range of its admitted applicants, 545–715. Anyone quoting a precise figure for the other three has taken it from a third-party source, often still on the old scale. And for Università Bocconi’s MSc programmes the minimum is set out in black and white: 485 out of 805. Your tutor assesses your starting level with the first mock tests on the platform and builds the pathway towards the score of the school you have chosen: whether you start from 455 or from 605, the pathway is personalised to your goal.

Why our mock tests work
The GMAT mock tests on Up to Ten’s Admission Platform use a proprietary CAT algorithm based on Item Response Theory (3PL model), calibrated and validated against the official GMAC distribution of 531,520 test-takers (2020–2025). The correlation between real and estimated ability is 0.94 for Quantitative Reasoning, with an average percentile error of 3.9%. These are measurements taken on our own mock tests: they say how well the platform estimates your level, they do not predict your score on exam day.

When you take a mock test on our platform, you’re not answering fixed-difficulty questions. You’re sitting a test that behaves like the real GMAT: every question is selected on the basis of your previous answers, the difficulty rises or falls in real time, and the final score reflects your actual ability.
This is possible because we built our own simulation engine, rather than buying third-party software. The algorithm is based on Item Response Theory — the same psychometric framework the GMAT has rested on since the ETS studies of 1985, and which it has used operationally ever since the exam became adaptive.
But the point isn’t the technology itself — it’s what it allows the tutor to do. Every mock test generates detailed data: score by section, time per question, weak areas, error patterns. The tutor sees all of it and turns those numbers into concrete decisions about what to tackle in the next lesson. Without this platform, the tutor would be working blind. With it, every decision rests on real data.

For most candidates, we recommend 3–6 months of preparation with weekly lessons and regular practice on the platform between one session and the next. The time varies with your target score, your starting level and how familiar you are with the adaptive format. For those who already have solid quantitative and verbal foundations, the tutor can build shorter, more intensive pathways. We establish your starting point with the first diagnostic mock tests on the platform.

Yes. The GMAT lets you choose the order of the three sections from six possible permutations. The tutor advises you on the best order based on your strengths: many prefer to start with the section they feel most confident in. In the mock tests on the platform you try different orders to find the one that works for you.
Yes. Lessons are held in English, like the test, and all the material on the platform — exercises, mock tests, passages, questions — is in the real GMAT format. You arrive on test day used to thinking in English against the clock, without translating.

The GMAT is a Computer Adaptive Test: the algorithm selects each question on the basis of your previous answers. Answer correctly? The next question will be harder. Get it wrong? The difficulty drops. The final score reflects the level of difficulty you reached, not just how many questions you got right. Our platform replicates exactly this mechanism — so when you take a mock test with us, you’re going through the same experience as the real test.
Up to five times in twelve months, test centre and online combined, with at least 16 days between one attempt and the next; there is no longer a lifetime limit. Schools only see the scores you decide to send, and since 2026 there is also the GMAT Superscore: your total recalculated from the best section scores across your valid attempts, on the same 205–805 scale. It is still worth arriving at your first attempt already prepared, rather than using it as a trial run.
The mock tests on our platform follow the GMAT format: 64 questions, 3 sections, the same timing, the same adaptive mechanism. The difficulty adapts to your answers in real time. After every mock test you get a report: total and section scores, estimated percentile, average time per question, weak areas by question type. The tutor reads it before the next lesson and builds the work on that.
At a Pearson VUE test centre, in Milan and other Italian cities, or online from home under remote invigilation. In Italy the fee set by GMAC is €275 at a test centre and €300 online; rescheduling costs between €55 and €180 depending on how much notice you give, and in the European Union you get a full refund if you cancel within 14 days of registering. Five years from the test date. At the end of the test you see your result and decide whether to keep it: you can cancel it, and schools won’t know.
Most business schools accept both. The GMAT is the more direct choice if you’re aiming only at MBAs or master’s in management; the GRE also keeps other master’s degrees open. If you haven’t decided yet, we talk it through before you start.
Not in the Quantitative Reasoning section, where it isn’t allowed: you work with pen and paper, which is why we train fast calculation and shortcuts. In Data Insights there is an on-screen calculator.
Three options. Our centre is in Milan at via Giuseppe Frua 21/6 (De Angeli area); we also offer online preparation with the same quality and real-time tracking on Up to Connect, and home tutoring in Milan with the same dedicated tutor.
For the Università Bocconi master of science programmes, the GMAT (or the GRE) is one of the selection requirements, with a stated minimum: 485 out of 805 on the current scale, 500 out of 800 on the old one. It is the most common case among the students who prepare with us in Milan: you reach the minimum with solid foundations and a strategy for managing your time, but the admissions ranking rewards those who go beyond it. SDA Bocconi, for its MBA, publishes neither an average nor a minimum.
