memorise Understand, don't

In STEM subjects, every concept builds on the previous one. Fall behind and gaps multiply. The problem is almost never "not being cut out for it". It's a study method that doesn't work — repeating without understanding, memorising formulas without knowing when to use them. Our approach starts here: rebuild the foundations, fill the gaps and teach students to reason independently. The goal isn't to pass the next test — it's to build an autonomy that lasts.
Real-world examples — from sport to music, every concept becomes concrete
Reasoning, not repetition — understanding why, not memorising how
Every step, measured — tracked in Up to Connect for student and parent
What actually changes.
Three things our students notice in the first weeks of tutoring.
Lessons start with a review of the previous work.
No "let's start over". No "where were we?". We pick up where it actually matters.
Parents stop asking "how was it?".
They see it directly. Topics, homework, grades — in real time.
Studying at home changes.
The tutor doesn't just explain. They teach how to tackle a new problem alone — and when it works, it shows in the grades.
Method that changes approach, not just grades.

“They didn't just fill the gaps — they identified the errors in his study method and guided him toward a more effective and conscious approach.”

5 phases of the Up to Ten Method
A cycle that doesn't close: it sharpens. Each phase produces the data that feeds the next.
Diagnosis
We start with a structured analysis of the student's actual level and real gaps — not "by feel". In the first lesson the tutor gathers data on how the student reasons, the recurring types of errors, and what foundations are actually solid. It's the foundation of everything else: a plan built on a wrong diagnosis fails.
Plan
The teaching team, together with the tutor, builds a personalized path: topics to cover, measurable goals, timelines shared with the family. The plan is entered into Up to Connect — student, parents and tutor always see where you are and where you're heading.
Practice
Structured lessons, guided exercises and calibrated independent work. Every session starts by checking the work done between lessons, then proceeds with explanation and consolidation, and closes with guided practice. We don't move to a new concept until the previous one is genuinely mastered.
Verification
Periodic evaluations based on concrete indicators: grade trends, homework completion, recurring error patterns, the ability to apply concepts to new problems. If something isn't working we see it in the data — we don't wait for the report card to find out.
Adaptation
The path is never linear: goals shift, tests get moved, unexpected difficulties appear. The teaching team is in constant dialogue with student and family and refines the plan accordingly, with optional dialogue with the school in agreement with the family.
It sharpens until the goals are reached.
“Curiosity cannot be taught. It ignites — the moment you finally understand the why. And from there, everything starts: understanding consolidates, confidence grows, and studying stops being a burden.”

A team, not a platform
Up to Ten is a team, not a platform. Every tutor is personally selected, trained on the Up to Ten Method and coordinated by area leads. Technology tracks every step of progress. The result: continuity, transparency and measurable outcomes.
A selected team, not an algorithm
We personally select every tutor, train them on the Up to Ten Method, coordinate their work. If a tutor is unavailable, a colleague steps in with the full history — the path doesn't stop.

Technology that amplifies, doesn't replace
Our exam simulations replicate real test conditions: structure, timing, difficulty. For SAT and GMAT, difficulty adapts in real time using IRT technology. Each simulation highlights where you need to improve — so work with your tutor becomes targeted.
A path that adapts, not a package
Goals shift, tests get moved, unexpected difficulties appear — the path adapts because the teaching team stays in constant dialogue with student and family. Full transparency on the data, optional dialogue with the school in agreement with the family, no surprises.
