Why choose us

Four weeks for the only item still open

When the test is held on 10 December, the second-year middle school report that goes into the ranking has been settled since June. At Liceo Volta the test is worth 67 points out of 93: it is the only part of the score that a student in the final year of middle school (terza media) can still work on. And there is only one date, with no make-up session.

The problem is not the syllabus, which is standard middle school material: it is the format. Seventy minutes of logic and maths with no calculator, then seventy of reading comprehension and the questionnaire, with questions nobody asks at school. That is why every lesson trains both parts together, just as on test day.

Who teaches

Dedicated tutors

Experienced with entrance tests and with middle school students: they guide the group through logic, maths and reading comprehension and give you concrete feedback on progress, lesson after lesson.

Meet the tutors

The Volta Test Masterclass is Up to Ten’s course for the Liceo Volta orientation test, which is worth 67 of the 93 ranking points if the school is oversubscribed. It is 6 two-hour lessons in a small group, from 13 November to 3 December, at our Milan centre and online, at €25 an hour. One start only: Friday 13 November.

Who it's for

Who the Masterclass is for

Your first choice is Liceo Volta

If Liceo Volta is the school you have in mind, the school report alone does not decide: if the school is oversubscribed, the test is worth 67 points out of 93. Four weeks on a fixed timetable are the simplest way to arrive ready.

Does well at school, but has never seen a test like this

Logic, arithmetic without a calculator, passages to read against the clock: these are questions nobody does in the final year of middle school. The group is there to meet them beforehand, alongside other students sitting the same test.

You want to know how it is going, not just at the end

After the assessment you know the starting point; lesson after lesson you get concrete feedback on progress and on how closely the course is following the plan. If an area is not moving, you find out while there is still time.

The method

How the Volta test course works

Small groups, the same group until the test

Dynamic, focused groups of students in their final year of middle school, who stay the same from the first lesson to the last. Six two-hour lessons, from 18:30 to 20:30, at our Milan centre or online in the same group.

The two parts that count most, in every lesson

Logic and maths are worth 26 points, reading comprehension another 26: every lesson is split into an hour for each, so the two are trained side by side, just as on test day.

It starts with an assessment and ends with a mock test

Before the course, an initial assessment modelled on past years’ papers, at the same level of difficulty: it shows where each student is starting from, their strengths and their gaps. In the last lesson, a full mock test with the rules and materials of test day, with no calculator.

Homework and the test platform

Between lessons, exercises to do independently to consolidate what has been covered, manage time better and recognise the question types. Students work on the Up to Ten test platform, which reproduces the structure, question types and timings of the test, and on our own materials built on past years’ papers.

Grazie

Lacune recuperate in materie scientifiche e latino

Test ammissione Economia Cattolica superato in 2 mesi

Super consigliati

Ammissione a Economics and Finance Bocconi

Materie scientifiche recuperate dopo anno USA

Grazie.

The course is 12 hours at the group rate of €25 an hour, with materials and the test platform included. The initial assessment is paid separately.

What we do promise

Not the result: that depends on you, on where you start and how hard you work, and no course can guarantee it. We promise what depends on us: a tutor who knows where you lose marks after every mock test, and a course that starts from your level.

The dates that matter

There are six lessons: Friday 13, Friday 20, Monday 23, Friday 27 and Monday 30 November, and Thursday 3 December, from 18:30 to 20:30. The initial assessment takes place beforehand, on a date to be agreed. The Liceo Volta test is on Thursday 10 December: the course ends a week earlier, and registration for the test, open from 23 November, closes at 12:00 on 4 December, the day after the last lesson.

The test

Three parts, one ranking

The Liceo Volta orientation test is optional, but when applications exceed places it is the item that carries the most weight in the ranking. In 2026 it is held on Thursday 10 December, in person at the school, on a single date: no remote sitting and no make-up dates. Registration is on the school’s platform, from 23 November until 12:00 on 4 December.

  • 67/93

the test’s points in the ranking: 26 logic and maths, 26 reading comprehension, 15 questionnaire on interests and motivation

  • 20

the points from the second-year middle school report: the item already closed by the time the test is taken

  • 70+70

minutes: first logic and maths, then reading comprehension and the questionnaire, with a ten-minute break in between

  • 10/12

the date of the 2026 test, the only one: registration from 23 November until 12:00 on 4 December

Calculators are not allowed; students with a certified specific learning difficulty (DSA) may use one and get 30% extra time. The questionnaire on interests and motivation is not published and cannot be prepared for like a test: to approach it with clear ideas, we offer an optional session on choosing a liceo. FAQ

Questions about the Volta test course

The course is built around the Liceo Volta orientation test: its two parts, its timings, its rules. Logic, arithmetic and reading comprehension also help with other entrance tests, but the format we train for is Liceo Volta’s. The tests of the other Milan licei are on the <link_liceo>entrance test page</link_liceo>.
Yes: the test is optional and is held only once, on 10 December, before the liceo enrolment application. Students who sit it have an extra score to count on if Liceo Volta is oversubscribed. For the questionnaire on interests and motivation, we also offer an optional session on choosing a liceo.
Small by design: small enough for the tutor to follow everyone’s working and correct them as they solve. The same group stays together from the first lesson to the last, in person and online. If you prefer, the same course can also be taken one-to-one or in pairs.
One start only: Friday 13 November. It is 6 two-hour lessons, from 18:30 to 20:30: Friday 13 and 20, Monday 23, Friday 27 and Monday 30 November, Thursday 3 December. The test is on 10 December: that leaves a week for the final exercises.
If one area is far behind or time is short, one-to-one concentrates the hours where they are needed. If the basics are there and what is missing is the format, the group costs less, and working alongside other students sitting the same test helps more than you might think.
More frequently asked questions (5)
They are modelled on past years’ papers, with the same level of difficulty and the same question types, and the final mock test follows the rules and materials of test day. The questions are our own: nobody knows the test before it is held, so be wary of anyone who promises otherwise.
€25 an hour at the group rate, for the 12 hours of the course, with materials and the test platform included. The initial assessment is paid separately: €50. Blocks are counted in hours and are non-refundable; any remaining credit can be used for school tutoring.
They are the typical path. After the assessment the plan is tailored to each student: some need the whole course, some need to work on just one of the two areas, others a few extra consolidation hours, one-to-one or in pairs.
After the initial assessment we tell you the starting point, the strengths and the gaps. Then, lesson after lesson, you get concrete feedback on progress and on how closely the course is following the plan. No score is promised: what you get is always knowing where points are being lost, and working on it while there is still time.
Then the ranking is not needed and the test serves as guidance only. You cannot know in advance: oversubscription only shows once enrolment has closed. The course is still worth it, because your child starts the first year of liceo with logic, arithmetic and reading already trained.
